I had a lot of fun using gradients and interesting color palettes for this exercise! With the circle I also figured out how to overlay my other pattern inside of another pattern. I don't know if my method was the normal way to do it, but for now I'm happy with what I got! I found a tool that allows me to create perfect gradients which I was very excited about. I would pick five or so colors that I thought worked well together and from there it was seeing what kind of interesting transitions I could get.
